Mrs. Linda Joyce (Tacker) Pierce, 65, of Wilson, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Born Sunday, March 2, 1947, in Dyess, to Cletus and Dorothy (Bullard) Tacker, she was a member of the Wilson First Baptist Church and a beautician. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cletus Tacker Sr.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, John Pierce of the home;

Three sons, Tim Pierce (and Felicia) of Wilson, Neil Pierce (and Heather) of Sherwood and Lance Pierce (and Shana) of Jonesboro;

Eight grandchildren, J.T., Abbey, Kelsey, Kesler, Carter, Preston, Katherine and Paxton; One great-grandchild, Adellyn;

Her mother, Dorothy (Bullard) Tacker of Whitton;

Two brothers, Bobby Tacker of Whitton and Cletus Tacker of Lepanto;

Three sisters, Frances Cowden of Cordova, Tenn., Janice Colbert of Whitton and Nancy Curtwright of West Helena;

A very special family friend, Cortez Kennedy of Orlando, Fla.

Visitation was held from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday at Eastside Baptist Church followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service. Burial followed in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Eddie Carpenter officiating. Pallbearers were her nephews.
