Freeman Junior Malloy

Mr. Freeman Junior Malloy, 83, of Manila, passed from this life Thursday, June 14, 2012, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born in Manila, he was the son of the late Freeman John Malloy and Agnes Andrews Pickett and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a retired pallet manufacturer for Bush Canning Company, formerly of Blytheville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steve Malloy; and two brothers, Carroll G. "Doc" Malloy and R.W. Malloy.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Nina Franks Malloy of the home;

One daughter, Tammi Scott and her husband, Barry, of Manila;

Two sisters, Anna Beth Thompson and Marilyn Looney, both of Leachville; and

Four grandchildren, Ross Malloy, Stacey Malloy, Kylie Scott and Caitlyn Scott.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with the Rev. Paul Lawrence and the Rev. Jack Hailey officiating. Burial will follow at Manila Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dr. Trent Pierce, Ross Malloy, Kevin Malloy, Bryan Malloy, Ernie Malloy and Jody Harden. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
