Emma Virginia Hoskins Webb

Mrs. Emma Virginia Hoskins Webb, 88, of Independence, Mo., passed away peacefully Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.

Emma was born Jan. 14, 1924, to Albert Hoskins and Lula Polk Hoskins. She was raised on a farm and being one of twelve children, learned the value of hard work at an early age. This continued her entire life. She retired from Sears after 29 years of service. True to her character, following retirement, she went back to work, working for Sam's Club for 20 years.

She was a faithful, active member of Beacon Free Will Baptist Church in Raytown, Mo. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lula P. Hoskins; her husband, Curtis S. Webb; a son, Jerry Wayne Webb; three brothers, Charles Hoskins, J.W. Hoskins and Leyon Hoskins; three sisters, Levern Byzak, Lillie Corsaw, and Mildred Hughes; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Kay Webb

Mrs. Webb leaves one son, Charles "Chuck" Webb, and wife, Cindy, of Rogers;

Four sisters, Esther Springer of Sikeston, Mo, Lavada Watson of Blytheville, Alvie Skelton of Blytheville, Irma Borah, of St. Louis;

A grandson, Jerry William Webb, and his wife, Lisa, of Katy, Texas;

A granddaughter, Kelly Diane Martin, of Montgomery, Texas;

Three step-grandchildren, Amy, Melissa, and Christopher Switzer of Bentonville;

Five great-grandchildren, Addison and Ty Webb, Shelby and Roland Martin and Aidan Gorhum; and

Five step-great-grandchildren, Madilyn and Sarah Littlefield, Kaleb Murphy, Lillian and Stella Switzer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at D.W. Newcomer's Floral Hills, with Bob Farwell and Bro. Corey Thompson officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
