David D. Rounsaville

David D. Rounsaville, 70, of Holland, Mo., passed from this life Monday, April 23, 2012, at his home.

Born in Anguilla, Miss., to Clyde and Emma Lillian Lyles Rounsaville, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Holland Baptist Church. He retired from Nibco, where he worked in the maintenance department.

David was a musician and entertainer and had played with Jerry Lee Lewis. He also accompanied Tommy Cash in Las Vegas. He was the Holland city marshal and supervisor for the Holland Water Department. He had organized fundraisers around the Fourth of July for several years to benefit the beautification of the Holland City Park. He also worked for South Pemiscot Schools in maintenance, janitorial and as a bus driver and often played the piano at lunch to entertain the children. When his health declined, he enjoyed being around the house with his wife, children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter, six brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Larna Stivers Rounsaville, of the home;

Children, LaNan Lewis of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Gayla Hoskins and husband, Wendell of Steele, and Jeremy Rounsaville of Holland;

One sister, Donna Gooch and husband, Larry of Memphis;

Four grandchildren, Michelle Rounsaville and Thomas, Hadley and Louis Hoskins;

Two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Dunavant officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
