Marvin Vernon Whitehead

Mr. Marvin Vernon Whitehead, 84, of Middleville, Mich., formerly of Blytheville, passed from this life Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Born in Wynne to Jim and Blanche Wilkey Whitehead, he was retired from Borg Warner. Marvin was a former member of Ruddle Road Church of God and was a member of Pentecostals of Kentwood Church in Grand Rapids.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Marvin Wayne Whitehead; three brothers, Dennis "Junior" Whitehead, Glen Wilkey and Leonard Wilkey; and a sister, Jerline McDowell.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Baugus Whitehead of Blytheville;

His children, Glen Whitehead of Blytheville, Tony Whitehead of Middleville, Mich., and Shirley Diane Cole of Blytheville;

His brothers, Wendell Wilkey of Jonesboro, Charles Wilkey of Bald Knob;

Eight sisters, Linda Brewer, Marie Gamble, Bertha McCormick and Glenda Johnson, all of Manila, Nellie Stone of Marmaduke, Barbara Warren of Jonesboro, Earline Hicks of Bowling Green, Ky., and Mary Kiss of Blytheville; and

Five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m Saturday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jamerson Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. until time for services. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
