Geneva Ford Hill

Mrs. Geneva Ford Hill, 77, of Osceola, died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at South Mississippi County Regional Medical Center in Osceola. She was born in Frenchman's Bayou to Oscar and Lula Ferguson Ford Sr. She accepted Christ as her Savior at First Baptist Church, Frenchman's Bayou, and remained a faithful member until her passing. She sang in the choir for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters Loistein Jones and Patricia Barner; a son Donald Hill; and grandsons Antonio Hill and Gerard Gulledge.

Mrs. Hill leaves her husband of 60 years, the Rev. R.J. "Pete" Hill of the home;

Six children, Clotis (and Sterling) Wafford of Dallas, James Hill of Memphis, Lorenzo (and Michelle) Hill of Little Rock, and Lula Hill, Sharon Hill, and Vivian Hill, all of Osceola;

Two brothers and their wives, Oscar and Faye Ford Jr. of Blytheville and Rogers and Gloria Ford of Joiner;

Three sisters and their husbands, Vernita and T.W. Hill and Alma Jean and Eugene Richmond, all of Memphis, and Annie Bell and Zeak Lacy of Gosnell;

Sisters-in-law Ollie Mae Donnerson of Birdsong, Ruby Williams and Murline Hayes of Kansas City, and Bettey (and Lee) Williams of Saginaw;

Brothers-in-law Lawrence (and Barbara) Williams of Oak Park and Richard (and Betty) Hill of Osceola;

Adopted brother Lynn Morris of Trumann;

Ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and

Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her special friend, Gladys McDay, went home to be with the Lord within minutes of the death of Mrs. Hill.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Promiseland Church of God in Christ, Elder Johnny L. Moore, pastor, on South Hwy. 61 in Osceola. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. W.L. Harris, will be held at the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow at Whiteside Gardens in Osceola. Arrangements are by McDonald-Horne Funeral Home of Blytheville.
