If IRS money not stolen, why a tax to pay it back?

To the editor:

From someone who has owned and operated a business, I feel the only type person who could "accidentally" fail to pay their withholding tax is either a fool, a liar or a thief. I am really disappointed that Mr. Parks did not bring this point up since it is my understanding he was a business owner/operator for many years.

You people are trying too hard to sell this tax vote which you immediately brought up once the tax deficit was highlighted. It is the City Council's job to oversee the mayor to ensure the city is being properly ran. This has failed in the past and I fear collusion on trying to correct this situation.

I am still opposed to this tax increase because if the money wasn't stolen then why are the voters being asked to replace it? My money is still on the fools, liars and thieves. Let the IRS take what they want -- maybe they need a mayor and city council. (Let's hope so anyway).
