Tax proposal wrong, as a matter of principle

Friday, January 27, 2012

To the editor:

Our city government needs to be in constant contact with the IRS and the FBI to push to get the missing $3.8 million in missing money mystery solved. It is not unsolvable. The FBI and IRS are trained to solve these mysteries.

Logically, it makes sense to pass the 1-cent tax measure for a period of 15 months, But as a matter of principle it is wrong to ask the citizens of Blytheville to right a wrong committed by the guilty person/persons in charge in the previous administration.

It is already known our former mayor has an obligation of at least $1.7 million that must be met. This was previously stated in the Blytheville Courier. Who owes the rest of the money? Certainly not the citizens of Blytheville, Ark.!
