Gerald Steven 'Steve' Moody

Mr. Gerald Steven "Steve" Moody, 59, of Blytheville, departed from this life Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born to Gerald Thomas and Mary Alice Johnson Moody in Blytheville, he was a lifelong resident and retired from Tenaris-Hickman Corporation as a slitter operator. Steve was a member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Steve was also an avid fisherman who loved to fish the Big Lake area but also loved to drive through the area in search of eagles. He loved to watch as they soared in the sky and would drive for hours in hopes of catching a glimpse of them. Steve was also a devoted family man who loved to spend as much time as possible with his wife, son, granddaughter, brothers and sisters. He was also a devoted friend to many and would do anything he could to help them. Steve also had a tremendous passion for the Arkansas Razorbacks. It was fitting that his final "Hog Call" was listening to the Razorbacks as they beat Kansas State in the Cotton Bowl.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Jackson Moody of the home;

A son, Steven Kish Moody and his wife, Lacy, of Jacksonville;

A granddaughter, Sunshine Skyla Silas of Jacksonville;

A brother, Alan Moody of Memphis;

Three sisters, Alice Faye Lovins and her husband, Jerry of Blytheville, Pamela Drumright of Little Rock, and Kathi Bolin and her husband, Steve, of Kennett, Mo.; and

A host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. the family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. Monday, also at Cobb Funeral Home.
