Mitsuko 'Mitzi' Ishida Patterson

Mrs. Mitsuko "Mitzi" Ishida Patterson, 78, of Gosnell, passed from this life Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Born in Sapporo, Japan, Mitzi was a homemaker, who was a very active volunteer in community activities. She was a Unit Commissioner in Cub Scouting. She was also involved in the Extension Homermakers Club and Ruritan Club of Gosnell and volunteered for the American Red Cross, where she was a swimming instructor for many years.

Mitzi was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Patterson; and son, Andrew Patterson.

She leaves one son, Tony Patterson, and wife, Tori;

Three grandchildren, Leslie Patterson, Nick Patterson and Morgan Patterson, all of Austin, Texas; and

One sister, Yashiko Sugahara of Japan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Max Briley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Cobb Funeral Home. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
