Mr. Uldene Evis Washington, 88, former longtime Cardwell, Mo., resident, and widow of Chester Mack Washington, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo. Born in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Coy C. and Mahala Alice Jones Stoker and had lived most of her life in Cardwell. She was a 1946 graduate of Arkansas State College and was a retired teacher, having taught in the Cardwell public schools for many years. She was a lifelong member of the Cardwell Baptist Church where she served as church pianist/organist for many years.

She leaves two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Charla Jean Brown of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Jane Washington of Houston, Texas; and

Her caregivers, Mike and Betty Rutherford of Paragould and Charles and Becky Raspberry of Jonesboro.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Cardwell Cemetery with the Rev. Clyde Cook officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville. A guest register is available at www.HowardFuneralService.com
