Mr. Jamie Ray Cook, 50, of Blytheville, surrounded by his loving family, went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Helena to Raymond D. and Emma Jean Fowler Cook. Jamie was an employee of Nucor Yamato Steel for 22 years until his health failed. There he had friends who loved him dearly.

Mr. Cook will be remembered for his love of family and friends, Friday night football and was an avid fan of the Razorbacks. He always looked forward to his annual turkey hunt with his brother-in-law, Michael, whom he loved like a brother. Jamie was a member of North Tenth Street Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, William and Nellie Cook; and his maternal grandparents, Roy and Dola Fowler.

He leaves by his wife, Johna McNeil Cook;

His children, Shawna Lewis and husband, Bradley, of Paragould, and Aaron Cook of Fayetteville;

His mother, Emma Jean Cook of Brinkley;

Two sisters, Stephanie Sayger and her husband, Michael, of Biscoe, and Stacey Terrice and her husband, John, of Cabot;

A father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Joyce McNeil of Des Arc;and

Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Max Briley officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Cobb Funeral Home. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
