Lonnie L. Martin Jr.

Mr. Lonnie L. Martin Jr., 78, of Blytheville, passed from this life Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born to Lonnie Lee and Bertha Weeks Martin, he was a longtime resident of Blytheville. Mr. Martin served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from the Civil Engineering Department of the Blytheville Air Force Base and was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and The Mississippi County Shrine Club. Lonnie was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, LaFaye Freeman Martin;

A son, Jeff and his wife Kennita Martin of Rogers;

A daughter, Kelli and her husband Keith Wages of Jonesboro;

A grandson, John Martin of Fayetteville;

Two brothers, Wade Martin and Huey Martin, both of Natchez, Miss.;

Two sisters, Liz Terrell of Jackson, Miss., and Vivian Hopkins of West Monroe, La.; and

His Masonic family and a host of friends and family.

There will be no funeral services, but the family will receive visitors from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Cobb Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or Shriners Children's Hospital in St. Louis.
