Patricia Mary Cummings, 71, of Blytheville, wife of C.W. Cummings, died on Aug. 29, 2011. She was born in Yorkshire, England to John Brown and Hilda Lane Brown. She attended "finishing school" in Switzerland. She graduated from Leeds University in Leeds, England with degrees in nursing and midwifery.

Mrs. Cummings was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Clarence W. Cummings; a stepson, Christopher Wayne Cummings, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a brother, John Brown (and Maria) of Hedon, England; a sister, Jill Owen (and Mike) of London, England; an aunt, who was also her godmother, Mary Mendham, of Withersea, England.

As C.W.'s helpmate, she worked for years behind the scenes, writing grant applications, contracts, fundraising literature and designing training aids. She was a very quiet and private person, but loved to meet people. Mrs. Cummings retired as a registered nurse in 1997 to devote her attention to intensive research for her writing. She had almost completed her second book, "Simply Geometric Golf."
