Local pastors stepping up in cleanup campaign

Friday, August 26, 2011

To the editor:

I personally would like to thank everyone who has committed to helping our city in this cleanup effort. I especially want to thank every pastor and their congregation for committing themselves to helping this city.

This speaks volumes about the people who really care about this city and the direction it is going. You know, when we started asking pastors for their help and leadership in this, we knew we wouldn't get all of them.

But with faith, we knew God would send the right ones, and he did, the true leaders, movers and shakers, the ones that aren't looking for anything but giving God the glory. I've had the best opportunity to meet some of the greatest pastors around our city. This has been a blessing to me.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I've seen the care and concern and willingness from these pastors and it sends chills all over. I want these pastors to know I can't thank you enough for your time and the effort that each of you have put and will put into this thing.

I also would like to thank the pastors and their congregations who do not even live in our city and are helping us in this cleanup. Thank you and may God bless you and your congregation immensely.

Like I've said before, pastors are the cornerstone of our city, and I'm glad to have met you. I look forward to working with everyone on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, the day before we lost so many heroes on Sept. 11, 2011. I look forward to working with everyone and being able to eat and fellowship afterwards. This will bring unity back to our community.
