Mr. Jackie Leon Deason Sr., 70, of Blytheville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, in St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro. Mr. Deason, a native of Blytheville, was born April 18, 1941, to Bennie Deason and Ella Bell Doss Deason.

Mr. Deason was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was saved and baptized and a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Mr. Deason enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, working on the farm, gardening -- specifically planting and tending his tomatoes. He also enjoyed watching old movies -- especially Westerns starring John Wayne and war movies starring Audie Murphy.

Little Angel will always miss you. The family would like to thank neighbors and very close friends Mr. and Mrs. Billy Payne, Mr. and Mrs. Tex Rich, and Alex Rodriguez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-father, George Woods; a son, Scott Leon Deason; and grandsons, J.W. Deason and Colten Deason; and one granddaughter, Heather Moore.

He leaves five sons, Joey Deason and Arthur Deason of Little Rock, Richard Deason of Blytheville, Jackie Deason Jr. of Blytheville, and Jason Deason (and Jamie) of Blytheville;

Three daughters, Connie Amidon (and Greg) of Blytheville, Shannon Moore (and Rickie) of Gosnell, Penny Jo Cowsert (and Jamie) of Paragould; and

Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his ex-wives, Dessie Parsley and Georgia "Bonnie" House; and his primary caregiver Patricia Deason.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Carney Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy J. Carney officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until services begin. Burial will follow in Carney Cemetery. Condolences can be made at www.carneyfuneralhome.com
