Limbs obstructing view of street signs

Sunday, July 24, 2011

To the editor:

We have many stop signs in our city that are either totally blocked or partially blocked from view, which could cause accidents.

Here are the locations of a few: Hearn and 16th streets, Davis and Laclede streets. There is also a speed limit sign stuck up in bushes by the old Bell Texaco Station (Ash and Division) that motorists can't see.

If it's the owner of the trees responsible to keep the limbs cut back, they should be told to do so. If it's the city's responsibility, do it before we have another accident at one of these locations.

I support Councilman Musgrave's cleaning up our city idea, but let's make traffic safety a priority.

Thank you.
