Ruby (Joe) Levern Capwell Jolley

Ruby (Joe) Levern Capwell Jolley, a resident of Bono, formerly of Blytheville, died Monday, July 11, 2011, in Jonesboro after a long illness.

Ruby was an accomplished artist, writer and gardener, on multiple occasions receiving the "Yard of the Month" award in Blytheville, where she lived for many years. She was known to family and friends as "Farmlady," and her love for nature and beauty defined her life.

Born June 16, 1926, in Van Vleet, Chickasaw County, Miss., she was the youngest of three daughters. She Was preceded in death by her mother, Dollie Estelle Riddle Capwell; her sister, Alice Vaynor Capwell; and her grandson, Samuel E. Thayer Jr.

She leaves one sister, Mattie Estelle Capwell Stark of Gosnell;

Two sons, Joe M. Jolley of Bono and C.B. Jolley of Memphis;

A daughter, Karen Levern Jolley Thayer of Memphis; and

A grandson, Christopher B. Jolley of Nashville, Tenn.

Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the Cancer Research Institute or a charity of their choice.

Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro has been entrusted with arrangements. Services will be private.
