Robert Earl Porter, 59, of Luxora, died of heart failure Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at SMC Regional Medical Center in Osceola. Born Nov. 30, 1951, in Blytheville, he was a factory worker and an usher at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Luxora.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Everline Porter Sr.; and one brother, Jeff Lee Porter Jr.

Mr. Porter leaves his wife, Connie Porter of Lansing;

One daughter, Kisha Porter of Burlington;

Two sons, Alphonso Porter of Jonesboro and Kevin Porter of Burlington;

Four sisters, Dorothy Porter of Homestead, Pauline Mooney of Burdette, Helen White of Burlington, and Anita Wilkes of Osceola;

Four brothers, Cleo Porter of Lynchburg, Wilson Porter and Randy Porter of Burlington, and Otha Porter of Luxora; and

Eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. McArthur Hampton, will take place at 11 a.m.Saturday at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Luxora.
