Mr. Leyon B. Trucks, 80, of Hope passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at St. Michael's Hospital in Texarkana. Mr. Trucks was born, Saturday, June 7, 1930, in Etowah, to Abner Benjamin and Nelli Ann Maxwell Trucks. He was a self-employed carpenter, a US Army Veteran, and a member of the House of Hope. Mr. Trucks was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Donald Wayne Trucks, Leyon Benjamin Trucks Jr. and Bennie Eugene Trucks; a brother, Doil Wayne Trucks; and a grandson, John Trucks.

He leaves his devoted wife, Dorothy Trucks of Hope;

Two daughters, Brenda (and Milton) Morgan of Hosston, La., and Leigh Ann Craven of Jacksonville, Fla.;

A brother, David Trucks of Pollock, La.; and

Six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and twp great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope. The Rev. Burly Johnson, the Rev. Jerry Hightower and the Rev. Mike Welch will officiate the service.
