Hattie Mae Fletcher

Mrs. Hattie Mae Fletcher, 91, of Blytheville, died Thursday, April 21, 2011, at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro. Born Nov. 14, 1919, in Joiner, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she sat on the mission board.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Thigpen and Annie Wheeler Thigpen; her husband, Steve Fletcher; two sisters, Dessie Washington and Annie Lee Thigpen; and five brothers, Roy Thigpen, Willie Lee Thigpen, Eddie Thigpen, Esau Thigpen and Jacob Thigpen.

Mrs. Fletcher leaves two children that she raised, Anita Tye of Blytheville and Burton Furlow Jr. of Phenix City. Ala.;

One brother, Norman Thigpen of Riverview; and

Thirty grandchildren and a host of great- and great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Burton Furlow, will be held at St. Paul MB Church at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola.
