Etta Surprise

Mrs. Etta Surprise, 87, of Blytheville, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Born in Hornbeak, Tenn., to Charles D. and Eunice Caksackkar Lee, she was a retired Randall Company employee, and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Surprise was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, MSgt. (Ret.) Walter L. Surprise Jr.; and her daughter, Tina Surprise.

She leaves her sons, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Walter L. Surprise III, and his wife, Charlotte, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Gary Surprise and his wife, Mary Etta, of Texarkana, Texas;

Her sister, Inither Smith of Sandburg, Tenn.;

Five grandchildren, Stephanie Surprise of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Gary Surprise II, of Texarkana, Texas, Jason Surprise of Allen, Texas, Tiffany Barnett of Katy, Texas, and Amber Plunk of Little Rock; and

Seven great-grandchildren.
