Lakota 'Codie' Faith Eldridge

Ms. Lakota "Codie" Faith Eldridge, 14, of Gosnell, passed from this life Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at LeBonheur Childrens Hospital in Memphis. Born in Blytheville to Billy Eldridge II and Pauline Smith, she was a student at Gosnell High School in the 8th grade and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Codie loved skateboarding and texting so that she could stay in touch with her friends. She was a vibrant, outgoing individual who lived and loved life to its fullest. She was a devoted daughter and granddaughter who loved to spend time with her family and friends. Mostly she loved the time she spent with her boyfriend, Larry Scissell. Her personality and character will truly be missed by all her family and friends.

She leaves her mother, Pauline Smith of Gosnell;

Her father, Billy Eldridge II of Harrison;

A brother, Christopher Eldridge of Gosnell;

Her grandparents, Louis and Linda Smith of Blytheville and Billy Eldridge Sr. of Harrison;

Her great-grandparents, Harry and Mary Billington of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Betty Smith of Campbell, Mo.;

A "special grandmother," Diane Hendrickson of Gosnell;

A "special uncle," Scott Smith who she loved more than life itself; and

Many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Father Joseph Pallo officiating. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Poplar Bluff. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. Monday at Cobb Funeral Home.
