Edgar "Leroy" Greene

Mr. Edgar 'Leroy' Greene, 75, of Marked Tree, died Thursday, March 3, 2011, at his home. He was born Jan. 15, 1936, in Florence, Ala. He was a farm worker and loved fishing and spending time with his family. He was of the Pentecostal belief.

Mr. Greene was preceded in death by one sister, Edith Bray; three brothers, Robert Greene, Tedford Greene and William Greene; and by two grandchildren, Misty Miller and Robert L. Greene.

He leaves three daughters, Diane Gilley and Vickie Miller, both of Marked Tree, and Barbara Tacker of Whitton;

Five sons, Charlie Greene of Harrisburg, Ricky Greene of Osceola, Gary Greene of Lepanto, Larry Greene of Trumann and Joey Greene of Marked Tree;

One sister, Lou Ellen Morgan of Smithville;

Two brothers, Judd Greene of Tyronza and Edward Greene of Smithville; and

Twenty-four grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of God in Marked Tree with the Rev. Jeffery Pope, the Rev. Lynn Vison and the Rev. Patrick Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Tyronza Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Tyronza.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the church.
