Mrs. Brenda Jean Flagg, 71, of Manila, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2011, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Manila, she was the daughter of the late Pinky and Grace Jackson Bunch and had been a lifelong Manila resident. A 1958 graduate of Manila High School, she also earned an Associates Degree from Arkansas Northeastern College in Blytheville. Mrs. Flagg was a member of the Blackwater Baptist Church near Manila.

She leaves her husband, Larry Flagg of Manila;

One son and daughter-in-law, George and Becky Flagg of Manila;

One daughter and son-in-law, Veronica and Dennis Sammons of Manila;

Two sisters, Willene Dobbins of Manila and Maxine Arnold of Marion;

Three grandchildren, April McClelland, Nathan Sammons and Erin Flagg; and

One great-grandson, Housten McClelland.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with the Rev. William Piercy and the Rev. Ferell Duffel officiating. Burial followed in Manila Cemetery. Pallbearers were Nathan Sammons, Blake McClelland, Ryan Gibson, Bobby Lee Barker, Jimmy Hicks and Paul Wayne Hicks. The family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
