Mrs. Vernice Logan, 85, of Wilson, died of heart failure Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, in Osceola. Born Aug. 3, 1925, in Grider, she was a homemaker and a member of United Pentecostal Church in Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Jones and Hattie Smith; her husband, Leonard Logan Sr.; one daughter, Mary Lee Holmes; two sons, Willie Logan and Leonard Logan Jr.; and one brother, Andrew Johnson.

Mrs. Logan leaves four daughters, Hattie Logan of Peoria, Ill., Doris Taylor of Osceola and Helen Smith and Sarah Logan of Wilson;

Four sons, Robert Logan, Eugene Logan and Andrew Logan of Osceola, and Roger Logan of Wilson;

One sister, Frankie Williams of Turrell; and

Sixty-five grandchildren,102 great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at the Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola from 5-7 p.m. Friday. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Waldo Campbell, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial will follow at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola.
