Shirley Jean Leitzen

Mrs. Shirley Jean Leitzen, 76, of Manila, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at her home. Born in Freeport, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Thelma Dyson Veer and had been a Manila area resident for the past 48 years.

She leaves her husband of 50 years, William Leitzen of Manila;

Four sons William Leitzen Jr., Douglas Leitzen and Walter Leitzen of Manila and Thomas Leitzen of Leachville

Four daughters, Mary Carter and Cathy Carter of Manila, Rita Armstrong of Lepanto and Margie Thrasher of Leachville;

One brother, Robert Veer of Reno;

Two sisters, Patricia Huenefeld of Lena, Ill., and Ruby Rouleau of Manchester, N.H.; and

Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. A guest register is available @www.HowardFuneralService.com
