'We can do it' icon remembered

We have all seen it, the iconic "We Can Do It" image that has become a symbol for the feminist movement and a cultural icon here in the United States. In 1942, Artist J. Howard Miller was hired by the Westinghouse Company War Productions Coordinating Committee to create a series of posters that they hoped would boost morale and encourage women to step into the workforce to replace the men who were off fighting in World War II.
