The Blytheville Fire Department recently spent about $30,000 of the police and fire tax receipts to buy new turnouts and safety equipment for firefighters. The department bought 15 complete sets of turnout coats, pants, boots, helmets, gloves and hoods. Each set costs approximately $1,800. Holding the new safety equipment are firefighter Chris Holifield, Diamond and Lt. Rickie Crawford.
