Accidental shooting injures juvenile

Originally reported to police as a drive-by shooting, the shooting that injured a 17-year-old boy on Willow has been determined to be accidental, according Blytheville assistant police chief Ricky Jefferson. Jefferson said the boy initially said it was a drive-by shooting apparently to avoid getting in trouble. It was later determined to be accidental. The incident occurred around 1:24 p.m. Saturday. Early Saturday morning, police responded to a shooting at the "Blue Room" in the 200 block of Sycamore, according to Jefferson. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Blytheville Police Department at 763-4411 or Crime Stoppers at 844-910-STOP. More information will be released as it becomes available.
