Recent circumstances have forced me to better recognize what is truly important in my life. Believe it or not, those things that ARE truly important have nothing to do with what I wear, what I drive or if my favorite ball teams are winning or losing. They don't even have to do with politics! Yeah I know...that's just crazy isn't it?...

Committee sends budget to City Council

The Finance Committee of the Blytheville City Council voted unanimously to send Mayor James W. Sanders' modified proposed budget to the full City Council for potential passage at a special meeting set for 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The committee also sent along the stipulation that a vote be held on amending Ordinance 1683 from 2009, which if passed, would allow for a one-time usage of $80,000 additional fire tax dollars to be used to fund six months of fire department salaries in order to avoid having to lay off any firemen. ...
