Wow! Christmas is a lot of things and honestly, they are not all good. Christmas is busy, expensive and nerve-racking. But, Christmas is also nostalgic and spiritual. Christmas is peaceful (at times) and love-soaked, while at the same time it is painful and sorrowful. Frankly, Christmas is life compacted, pressed down, concentrated and amplified. I think Christmas is the sum of all human existence. Let me explain...

Max D. Williams, 80, of Blytheville, passed away Tuesday morning at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge. He was born in Mountain View to Bill and Mytrie Broyles Williams on June 11, 1935. The last night for area residents to participate in this year's Lights of the Delta (LOTD) is Sunday. Organizers say the final days of the season are a terrific time to see the lights because "traffic eases up" after Christmas and participants can get terrific deals at the souvenir stand.
