More than 20 people have been arrested and several more remain at large in connection with a large-scale drug trafficking investigation in northeast Arkansas. Christopher R. Thyer, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas; William J. Bryant, assistant special agent in charge of the Little Rock District Office of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA); and Scott Ellington, district prosecuting attorney for the Second Judicial District of Arkansas, announced the unsealing of a 62-count indictment Friday, charging multiple defendants in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma, with multiple drug charges.. ...

Snow says some of the 'missing' Parks and Rec money not really missing

Blytheville City Councilman Kevin Snow said there's a misconception on how much the city has spent from the Parks and Recreation CDs. At the close of Thursday night's Finance and Purchasing Committee meeting, he said the fact is the two CDs, which currently total $562,624.47, only had $875,000 to begin with, not the full $1,134,033.64 that the city received in excess funds from parks and recreation bond. ...

Mattie Lou Myers

Mrs. Mattie Lou Myers, 63, died early Friday, Jan. 17, at Heritage Square Nursing Center. She was born in Yarbro to Julus and Nora Lee Cash Aug. 7, 1950. She was very well thought of and had a great sense of humor. Many people knew "Miss Mattie" from Blytheville Water Works where she retired after 34 years. She loved going to church and she was one of the most faithful members of Bethany Baptist Church. Her family was very special to her and she really enjoyed going camping with her husband...
