West Main St. added to historic registry

As of Aug. 5, the block of Main Street running from Sixth to Division has officially been added to the National Register of Historic Places. This listing includes the homes on the block, but is not a listing for each individual home. In order for buildings to be considered for listing on the Register, they must have been built before or in the year 1960, according to Matt Perkins, executive director of Main Street Blytheville. ...

Teen accused in rape of 5-year-old

A 16-year old Blytheville resident will be tried as an adult on a charge of raping a 5-year old girl. The teenager allegedly assaulted a 5-year old family member who lives in Wilson in July. Officers were called to the South Mississippi County Regional Medical Center in Osceola in regards to the incident. An interview and examination was also done at the Memphis Sexual Assault Center, where the results revealed evidence of the assault...
