Ignite's 'Christmas in July' party set for Saturday in Walker Park

There will be gospel music, food and fun for all ages Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Walker Park. Ignite is sponsoring their annual "Christmas in July" party, a fundraiser for Boxes of Love. Boxes of Love are boxes of food and toys given free of charge to deserving families. While volunteers provide the labor collecting, assembling and distributing the items, money must be raised to purchase food and toys to go into the boxes...

White's lawyer asks for Aug. 26 trial date

Blytheville Alderwoman Carol White did not appear as scheduled to answer charges of third-degree domestic battery on Thursday. Instead, her attorney, Jim Harris, filed an appearance on her behalf and asked for a trial to be held on Aug. 26. Manila school construction should be complete by Sept 3

During its regular meeting Thursday the Manila School Board, along with school officials, toured the construction of the District's new Justin Veach Elementary School, which is now set to be complete by Sept. 3. In June's regular meeting of the Manila School Board, Adam Sieder, senior project manager for NABHOLZ Construction Services, explained that the new elementary school project, which was originally slated to be finished by August, would not be finished until late September. ...
