PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. -- Authorities are still investigating the details surrounding the death of two Portageville girls. According to Portageville Police Chief Ronnie Adams, no charges have been filed in the case. The city of Blytheville's infrastructure bond retired last month and money should become available later this month or in July, depending on the swiftness the state releases the funds, according to Blytheville Mayor Barrett Harrison. The 1/4-cent tax generates between $53,000 and $70,000-plus, the mayor said. He said last month a 1/4-cent generated around $63,000, but the figure has been as low as $53,000 in the last six months.
